After completing his military service, Alvin set his sights on the financial world. He also holds a BS in Finance and Accounting from Drexel University, giving him a strong foundation in both quantitative analysis and organizational structure.

As Alvin Kressler’s career advanced, he moved into senior roles at major financial institutions including Lehman Brothers, Brinson Patrick, and later Bloomberg. At Bloomberg, Alvin played a key role in driving digital transformation and operational modernization. He helped advance global product strategies, streamline processes, and support new business ventures.

Transforming CFA Society New York
One of Alvin’s most impactful leadership accomplishments took place at CFA Society New York, one of the world’s largest CFA societies. When he assumed the role of Executive Director, the organization faced financial challenges and declining operational efficiency.
Alvin brought a data-driven mindset and a clear strategic roadmap. Through operational reform, enhanced financial forecasting, and revamped program management, he helped move CFA NY from a –3% deficit to a 10% operating surplus. He also expanded educational and member engagement initiatives by 120%, significantly boosting the organization’s global reach and value.
This turnaround showcased Alvin’s ability not only to develop strategy but to execute it effectively—bringing measurable change to complex environments.
